Digestive benefits of turmeric essential oil
Zingiberene makes up more than 30% of turmeric essential oil’s components and is known to have a strong effect on the gastrointestinal system. It can not only reduce bloating/cramping, but also optimize nutrient uptake and the digestive process.
Derived from curcumin, the anti-inflammatory substance called alpha-curcumene is found in turmeric essential oil in very high concentrations. This allows turmeric oil to soothe inflammation associated with gastrointestinal inflammation.
A Japanese study (see link below) showed that the combination of curcumin and turmerone given by mouth at both low and high doses actually abolished tumor formation. Study results published in BioFactors led researchers to the conclusion that using turmerone in combination with curcumin may become a potent means of natural prevention of inflammation-associated colon cancer. Turmeric is also being studied as a treatment for diseases like Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis.
USES
Add one or two drops to your food for flavour enhancement as well as for soothing benefits that promote a positive immune response.
Turmeric essential oil acts as a great burst of flavour to your favourite savoury meals.
Dilute 1 drop of oil in 1 teaspoon of honey or in ½ cup of beverage.
Take 1-2 drops in an empty capsule.
When taken internally, it offers daily antioxidant support and can help support a healthy nervous system, cellular function, and immune response. It may also help support healthy glucose and lipid metabolism, and healthy circulation.
Turmeric oil is generally regarded as safe for human consumption by the FDA. Not for children under 6 years old. Use with caution and in greater dilution for children 6 years old and over.

Risks
